Epistasis
We have a series of experiences with the non-Mendelian interaction of Genes called Epistasis. Mendel developed the concept of Dominant and Recessive traits, but Epistasis goes beyond a single gene. In 1909 William Batson, a biologist studying variation coined the term Epistasis noting that genes could interact. He observed that one gene could be influenced by many others, so multiple genes may interact to produce a phenotype in some traits like eye color where you see lots of variation. In our presentation we address the topic of Epistasis through the art technique of Storyboarding. Storyboarding is a great way to present Epistasis if you are a teacher or to just learn about Epistasis if you are a student.
